Changing the Quake 3 Crosshair

A NOTE ABOUT PURE SERVERS:

		Pure and Non Pure Servers. Custom crosshairs can only be used online at servers that have the Pure Server option set to "off". At Pure Servers, you'll need to get your crosshair file to the server for it to work. The exact same file must be on both machines. If your favorite server is running Pure, and you know the owner or admin, you can ask him to load your custom crosshair file. If not, or if he doesn't want to be bothered, send me your crosshair and if it's significantly different than the ones I already have, I'll include it the next Pure Server Player Pak and the next update to the Server Pak for Pure Servers operators. Then send the server admin to this site, to the Pure Server section, so he can learn how to allow the use of custom crosshairs while still maintaing the protection the Pure Server provides.
		HOW TO CHANGE THE QUAKE 3 CROSSHAIR

1.		Download one of the prebuilt pak9.pk3 files on pages 1-5 of this section for a single crosshair, or go to the Pure Server section for some paks with a 9 crosshair assortment. Put either .pk3 file into your baseq3 folder.

2.		That's all there is too it. The new crosshair will show up in the selection on the Options menu in the game. If you decide you don't like the look of the new crosshair, just delete the new pak9.pk3 or pakhairs.pk3 file and the game will revert to the original crosshairs. If you download a new crosshair that's not already in it's own .pk3 file, see #6 in the Design a New One section for instructions on creating a pk3 file (which is really a Zip file) for it.
